Children will learn about the beef industry in this book. Starting with the birth of calves, students will learn that cattle are ruminants, cattle provide nutrients to the soil through manure, and weaning occurs from the females in fall. As the calves grow, they are taken to a feedlot. The beef production process is described: inspection of meat, different cuts of beef, and the nutrients beef has for human development.
