Based on the research of literacy learning and teaching, the authors provide intervention approaches for students at risk. The authors describe recommendations for motivating students, fostering reading fluency and improving reading and writing skills. The strategies used for differentiated and tailored instruction are incorporated into numerous classroom vignettes and are listed separately in the second section of the resource.
