Each chapter of the student book begins with an exploratory activity that activates prior knowledge and introduces the concept. This is followed by lessons and reviews including a mid-chapter review. The units culminate with a chapter task that connects the chapter concepts and summarizes the learning for the section. There are three cumulative reviews in the student resource. Reading strategies are included and new vocabulary is defined and highlighted in the lesson.
