In this light-hearted story, timid Scaredy Squirrel is afraid to have a friend because it is too risky – the friend might bite him. Eventually, the infamous squirrel decides that a goldfish would make a perfect friend (no teeth); however, a muddy, rowdy dog interferes when Scaredy attempts to meet the goldfish. Scaredy is terrified at first, but eventually he and the dog become soul mates.
