A sequel to The Breadwinner, this novel continues the story of Parvana, a 13-year-old girl who has been left to fend for herself in war-torn Afghanistan. Forbidden to appear in public as a girl, Parvana must disguise herself as a boy when she goes in search of her mother and siblings. This is a story about loyalty, survival, families and friendship set against the backdrop of an intolerable situation. .
