Rooster is off to see the world. Along the way, he meets other animals and invites them to join him on his adventure. First two cats, then three frogs, four turtles, and five fish join the expedition. When night sets in, the animals become homesick and decide to return home in the reverse order of which they came. The rooster, once again alone, remembers the comforts of home and returns to his perch.
