"This book deals with human relationships, recollection and the effects of the past on the present and the future. The story covers current issues such as homelessness, teenage runaways and spiritual life. Instead of attending his piano lesson, 14-year-old Charles Endicott hides out in an old church and witnesses an accident. A stained glass window breaks and falls on a homeless girl, Ambriel, who is seeking refuge in the church, and she loses her memory after being hit with the glass. In an attempt to help Ambriel, Charles remembers his own shattered memories and begins to deal with unresolved grief over his father's death."--Ministry of Education website. .
