"Leia's family life is difficult. Her brother, Brian, physically abuses her, her Aunt Phoebe does not know how to handle the situation and the family's social worker is unaware of what is happening in the home. Both Leia and her brother self-mutilate themselves. To get away from Brian's abuse, Leia goes to the zoo. Kyle, the owner's son, comes up with a plan that allows Leia to stay at the zoo.
