On a day when Max does not feel like talking to anybody, he finds two sticks that make a perfect pair of drumsticks. He starts with a “pat…pat-tat” on his thighs. Next he begins a “tippy-tip…tat-tat” on a bucket. Then he starts “dum…dum-de-dumming” on some boxes. Finally he is “cling…clang da-banging” on the garbage pails. When a marching band “thump-didi-thumps” around the corner, Max learns that you do not need to talk to say how you feel – especially when you have music!
