This board book describes the history and uses of the star blanket which is a quilted blanket that gradually replaced animal hides for bedding after Indigenous peoples were moved to reserves and were no longer able to move about freely to hunt. Their designs and construction are discussed as well as their current day use for sacred ceremonies where it is considered an honour to give and to receive one.
