A storyography of Art Tatum as he becomes one of the world's greatest jazz pianists, despite his very weak eyesight. The story begins when Tatum can barely reach the keyboard on tiptoe, continues through is teenage years when he is paid to play in bars and on the radio, and continues into hi young adulthood when he has already become famous.
