This resource provides a framework for elementary and secondary teachers to guide students in planning and implementing a social action project. Five student tasks comprise the problem-solving model at the heart of this approach: clarifying the problem, agreeing on a solution, planning a course of action, and implementing and evaluating the action. The tools to help students thoughtfully carry out each task are developed through a variety of learning activities.
